Walcot Hall Camp Site and Caravan Park is the ultimate venue for camping in Shropshire. Upon arrival in South Shropshire, the Camp Site / Caravan Park is situated to the rear of the Powis Arms public house, at the entrance of the drive to the Hall. Our camp site has 12 pitches for touring caravans each with electrical hook up and additional space for tents. Facilities include heated amenity block with showers, toilets, washing machine, dryer and chemical disposal point. The pub is very friendly and serves restaurant and bar meals and the village shop is a short walking distance. There are also food shops and a petrol station in nearby Bishop’s Castle.
The camp site is run by Walcot Hall administration and pitches can be booked in advance by contacting the office. Camping costs £5 per person per night and the cost of an electric hook-up is £10 per night. The tariff for touring caravans is £20 per pitch per night for two guests, including electric hook up and use of amenities. Additional guests are charged £5 per person per night, children under 5 are free and accompanied children between 5 and 16 years old are half price. Well behaved dogs are allowed on site.
This camp site is in an idyllic location for exploring the outstanding natural beauty of South Shropshire, with Offa’s Dyke and Bury Ditches walks only a few miles away. Nearby (3 miles) is the quaint and beautiful market town of Bishop’s Castle which is know for its brilliant beers and homemade food. Pubs such as the Three Tuns and The Six Bells are famous for their own brewed ales and The Castle Hotel has a fantastic beer garden with breathtaking views. Bishop’s Castle regularly hold events throughout the year which are great fun for all the family such as the annual Michaelmas Fair, Christmas Lights, Carnival, Party in the Park and the fantastic Real Ale Trail.
