      Harvest Moon Yurt

Harvest Moon Yurt is tucked away in the arboretum and raised up on stilts overlooking one of the natural pools.

      From £450.00
      Overview

Tucked away in the arboretum and raised on stilts overlooking one of the natural pools, Harvest Moon Yurt is built like a round Mongolian ger: wooden struts soaring to a high ceiling with a cupola, so you can wake with the sun, or a woolly alarm clock – the estate’s sheep often nibble the grass below.

      Cosy Haven

Up on the deck, there’s no one to disturb just a table for sitting with a pack of cards and a bottle of something crisp and chilled as you watch the light soften with the setting sun. The fairy lights inside illuminate a big blanket-covered double bed and a day bed for relaxing and reading.

Inside the yurt, there is a comfy double bed, single daybed, wood burner and a small camp stove with a kettle. There is a shared cooking area just a short walk away which provides you with crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, gas, washing up liquid, tea, coffee and sugar, so you have everything you need for a relaxing digital detox.

You are very welcome to bring your own BBQ.

We supply you with bed linen in your yurt, but we ask you to bring your own towels.

      Off-Grid Glamping Experience

Walcot Hall’s hidden hideaways are glamping in the truest sense of the word! We are off-grid, so don’t expect to find electricity, but there are fairy lights and candles for when the night draws in. There are hot showers and quirky flushing loos just a short distance away, as well as a small kitchen area with a gas burner and running water. A refillable water container will be provided in your accommodation. If you are looking to book at the beginning or end of the season, please be aware that nights can get chilly. We do provide hot water bottles and logs, just in case, but Yurts are simply a big tent, so it’s best to come prepared!

Please note our glamping accommodation is only suitable for the more agile and adventurous. Sturdy footwear and a torch are essential, especially if you’re arriving after dark, as there are no lights in the arboretum. Wellies are also useful if it has been wet.

If you would like to bring a cool box for your food we have a communal freezer in the passageway by the Estate office, where you are welcome to refreeze your blocks.

      Family and Dog Friendly Yurt

This large yurt sleeps 2 adults and up to 2 children. Please let us know if you require a camp bed as well as the daybed.

All of Walcot Hall’s self-catering holiday cottages and glamping accommodation are dog friendly.
