Gypsy Caravan

Bright and Cheery Retired Traveller's Wagon

Hidden in the Arboretum, amongst the splendid and ancient trees, the Gypsy Caravan has no electricity or running water and is only accessible on foot.  It is ideal for the agile and adventurous wanting to get away from it all.

The Gypsy Caravan is a cheerful Romany home with one double bed and a child’s cabin bed hidden underneath. The living space has a cosy gas fire and a 2 ring gas hob and grill. Outside there is a campfire and ample seating.

Bed linen is provided within the cost, however towels are not included. An initial water supply is provided,  you will then need to carry your own water to top up the reserves during your stay. A short walk away there is a long-drop lavatory (or earth closet) which is just opposite, and we have also fitted a gas powered shower in a genuine AA van which is a 5 minute walk away.

Nearby are two secluded pools which truly are spectacular hidden gems waiting to be discovered. You can spend hours wondering around the Arboretum exploring. The Great Douglas Fir is a must, over 17ft wide and 100ft tall, it is a magnificent sight.

Please note we do not allow group bookings for our hidden treasures and they are only suitable for the more agile and adventurous. Sturdy footwear and a torch are essential!

(Please note that the Gypsy Caravan is not available from 1 November inc to 24 March inc)
