The Dipping Shed

Secluded Cabin On The Edge Of The Arboretum, Sleeps 4

The Dipping Shed is a stunning and secluded rural retreat situated just off the drive to Walcot Hall. In an elevated position, it is accessed by foot and involves a walk across a section of field before dropping down into the garden entrance.

The delightful hunting lodge is a converted timber building with an open plan layout, which includes a kitchen, dining area, living area, bathroom and double bedroom. Above the kitchen is a second double bedroom on a mezzanine floor reached by a sturdy ladder staircase.

It has a wood-burning stove, Rayburn and a gas cooker and has solar panels to provide electricity which powers the fridge and lighting. Please note that powerful electric items can’t be used here, but phone chargers and low wattage appliances are fine.

Wooden shutters open out to reveal the most wonderful views over the west lake and the Long Mynd beyond. There is a paved area by the front door with a table and benches to give guests the chance to make the most of all aspects of this popular cabin.

The Dipping Shed is the most remote of all the cottages at Walcot Hall. If attending an event in the Main Hall or Ballroom, it will take approximately 10 minutes on foot to cover the distance. Sturdy footwear and a torch are recommended. You can bring your party shoes with you and change once there. Alternatively, you are welcome to drive up and park in the main car park.

All of Walcot Hall’s self catering cottages and glamping accommodation are dog friendly.
