      After The Gold Rush Yurt

After the Gold Rush Yurt is the epitome of glamping. This spacious yurt boasts stunning views over a wild pool where you will find a rowing boat!

      Overview

Where Still Water Meets Starry Skies

Perched above a serene wild pool After the Gold Rush Yurt is a magical escape for dreamers and wanderers. Elevated on a wooden platform nestled into the hillside, this spacious sanctuary offers panoramic views, a private decking area with seating, and the kind of peace that lingers long after you’ve left.

Please note: due to a steep drop from the decking to the pool below, this yurt is not suitable for small children or guests with mobility needs.

A Room with a View (and a Rowing Boat)

Inside, you’ll find thoughtful simplicity at its best: a cosy double bed, a small double sofa bed, a wood-burning stove for chilly evenings, and a camp stove with a kettle for those slow, tea-steeped mornings.

Just a short woodland wander away is the shared outdoor kitchen, stocked with everything you need for relaxed, off-grid cooking: crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, gas, tea, coffee, and sugar. You’re also welcome to bring your own BBQ for lakeside feasting under the open sky.

We’ll have the bed linen ready and waiting—just remember to pack your own towels.

      Soulful, Off-Grid Glamping

There’s no electricity here, only the glow of fairy lights, and the crackle of a fire. You’ll find hot showers, quirky flushing loos, and a kitchen nook with running water and gas burner a short walk from your yurt. A refillable water container will be waiting for you inside.

We include hot water bottles and logs to keep you cosy, but early and late season guests should come prepared for the brisk embrace of nature—yurts are, after all, a romantic version of a tent.

A Glamping Spot for the Wild at Heart

This yurt—like all of Walcot Hall’s off-grid gems—is best suited to those with a spirit of adventure. Don’t forget your sturdy shoes, a torch, and wellies if the weather’s been a little moody.

Bringing perishables? You’re welcome to use the communal freezer near the Estate office to refreeze your cool box packs.

As with all of Walcot Hall’s self-catering cottages and glamping hideouts, After the Gold Rush Yurt welcomes four-legged companions, because no adventure is complete without them.
