Charming ground-floor cottage with two bedrooms, private garden, and rich history — perfect for peaceful stays among peacocks
Once home to a beloved Walcot Hall groundsman, Harold has been thoughtfully restored to welcome guests while keeping its historic charm. The cottage blends cosy comfort with character, creating an inviting space where guests can relax and unwind amidst the Shropshire countryside.
Inside Harold, you’ll find:
A lounge with wood-burning stove, perfect for slow evenings
A bright kitchen-diner with modern essentials, including dishwasher and microwave
Two tranquil bedrooms: one double, one twin
A bathroom with a bath and overhead shower, ideal after a countryside walk
Every detail has been carefully considered to make Harold a comfortable and characterful self-catering cottage in Shropshire.
Step outside to Harold’s garden, a peaceful spot for tea in the sun, reading, or simply enjoying the sights and sounds of the estate. With birdsong all around and peacocks wandering nearby, this outdoor space is a true countryside escape.
As with all Walcot Hall cottages, Harold warmly welcomes dogs. Bring your four-legged friends along to explore the estate, relax in the garden, and enjoy the countryside together.
Harold isn’t just a cottage — it’s a little piece of Walcot Hall’s history, offering guests a memorable, character-filled stay.
Situated on the second floor of Walcot Hall, Montfort has two double bedrooms; Margaretta and George, and one twin room called Elizabeth. All of the rooms are filled with the history of the Hall.
This holiday cottage is within the old stable block and has high ceilings, grand windows and open plan layout with under-floor heating.
Once the heartbeat of a local village — a humble hall clad in corrugated iron — Norbury Hall now lives a gentler life nestled within the Walcot Estate.
A quirky little retreat brimming with character. Perfect for slow mornings, countryside rambles, and curling up in your own cosy nook – this is simple living, done beautifully.
