Once at risk of being lost forever, The Chapel was saved from demolition and lovingly restored by master woodworkers. Today, it stands serene among ancient oaks and chestnuts — a sacred, secluded hideaway surrounded by the beauty of the Shropshire countryside.
Accessible only by foot, a 500-yard woodland path gently leads you from the stable block and car park to the chapel door. Sturdy shoes and a sense of adventure are all part of the journey.
Step inside and you’ll find warmth, character, and considered simplicity. Reclaimed wood lines the floors and walls, giving the open-plan living space a rustic elegance. A Rayburn stove, gas cooker, and wood-burning stove provide the tools for slow, nourishing days — while a fridge, TV, and DVD player are subtly included for comfort and convenience.
A spiral staircase leads to a mezzanine level, where two double bedrooms overlook the lounge below — a layout that creates a feeling of elevation and openness. Downstairs, you’ll find a deep soaking bath with an overhead shower, perfect for relaxing after walks in the surrounding woods.
With central heating throughout, The Chapel stays cosy in every season.
Dogs are very welcome at Walcot Hall, and The Chapel is no exception. Let your four-legged companion roam the grounds, rest by the fire, and explore alongside you.
Please note: as the path to The Chapel has limited lighting, we recommend bringing a torch and wellies, especially after rainfall.
