Once the heartbeat of a local village — a humble hall clad in corrugated iron — Norbury Hall now lives a gentler life nestled within the Walcot Estate.
When the village of Norbury received a lottery grant for a new community hall, the original building found a second life at Walcot. Its original timber structure was carefully preserved, ensuring the spirit of gathering and connection lives on.
Today, the hall’s metal exterior has been replaced by cedar-lined walls, milled from fallen trees on the Walcot Estate itself. Step inside and you’re welcomed by the warm scent of timber, layered textiles, and a calm, cocooning atmosphere — a space rich in history yet beautifully refined.
Designed with comfort and connection at its heart, Norbury Hall features an inviting open-plan kitchen and living area, ideal for shared meals, relaxed evenings and slow mornings with coffee in hand.
A gas-powered Aga brings nostalgic warmth to the space, complemented by modern conveniences including:
Dishwasher
Washing machine
Generous fridge/freezer
Everything you need for a relaxed self-catering stay on the Walcot Estate is thoughtfully provided.
Norbury Hall sleeps up to six guests, making it ideal for family breaks or countryside escapes with friends. Accommodation includes:
Two double bedrooms (one set within the eaves with its own en-suite)
One twin bedroom
A shared family bathroom
The layout offers a balance of private retreats and shared living, allowing guests to unwind together or enjoy quiet moments of rest.
True to Walcot Hall’s distinctive style, Norbury Hall is furnished with an eclectic mix of vintage pieces and handpicked details. Expect soft linens, timeworn wood and tactile textures that invite you to slow down and settle in.
With its cedar-clad interior, the space feels more treehouse than cottage, grounding, peaceful and entirely one of a kind. This is luxury accommodation in Shropshire, redefined with character and soul.
Like all corners of Walcot Estate, Norbury Hall is dog-friendly, welcoming four-legged companions with open arms. With countryside walks and outdoor adventures waiting just beyond the door, it’s the perfect escape for guests travelling with dogs.
