Buffalo Springfield is located in the yurt field, on the edge of the arboretum with forest views on one side and rolling Shropshire Hills on the other.
A Hillside Hideaway Beneath the Oaks
Cradled between the edge of the arboretum and the soft sprawl of the Shropshire Hills, Buffalo Springfield Yurt is a dreamy retreat where forest whispers meet open skies. Elevated gently on a grassy hillside and embraced by the limbs of a majestic oak tree, this yurt gazes out across a landscape that begs you to pause, breathe deep, and stay a while.
Step out onto the private decking—complete with ample seating—and sip your morning coffee with birdsong, or share stories under a canopy of stars.
Step inside to find a beautifully simple space with a cosy double bed, a wood burner ready for cool evenings, and a seating nook perfect for slow mornings and good books. A small camp stove and kettle are on hand for warm drinks whenever the mood strikes.
For more substantial meals, a shared outdoor kitchen is just a short amble away—stocked with everything you need, from cutlery and crockery to gas, tea, coffee, and sugar. You’re also more than welcome to bring along your own BBQ for a sizzling supper alfresco.
We provide snuggly bed linen inside the yurt. Just don’t forget to bring your own towels.
This is glamping with soul—off-grid, candlelit, and deeply rooted in nature. There’s no electricity here, but as dusk settles, the space glows with twinkling fairy lights. Just a short stroll away, you’ll find hot showers, quirky flushing loos, and a shared kitchen nook with a gas burner and running water.
We’ll leave you a refillable water container, along with logs and hot water bottles to keep you warm on cooler nights. But do come prepared—yurts are glorified tents, after all, and the great outdoors likes to keep us on our toes.
Buffalo Springfield is best suited to the curious and agile explorer. The arboretum is wild and unlit, so bring sturdy shoes, a torch, and perhaps a pair of wellies if the rain has paid a visit.
Planning to bring chilled food? There’s a communal freezer near the Estate office where you can refreeze your cool box packs.
Just like all of Walcot Hall’s self-catering cottages and glamping gems, Buffalo Springfield Yurt is dog-friendly, because adventures are better with a wagging tail at your side.
Tucked away in a quiet corner of the grounds, our charming Shepherd’s Hut is your cosy countryside hideaway. Perfect for peaceful escapes, wild swims, and starry-night campfires – all with a touch of rustic charm.
Situated within the Walcot Hall estate in our beautiful Arboretum, there are two Showman’s caravans.
Ram Baa Shepherd Hut is one of ten ‘Hidden Treasures’ and sits right in the middle of the arboretum, surrounded by beautiful trees and nature.
