The Showman’s has one double bedroom, a living room with a log burner and sofa and a separate kitchen which has a table and seating and a simple camping stove for cooking.
Nearby are two secluded pools which truly are spectacular hidden gems waiting to be discovered. You can spend hours wandering around the Arboretum exploring.
You are very welcome to bring your own BBQ.
We supply you with bed linen but we ask you to bring your own towels.
Walcot Hall’s hidden hideaways are glamping in the truest sense of the word! We are off-grid, so don’t expect to find electricity, but there are fairy lights for when the night draws in. There are hot showers and quirky flushing loos just a short distance away, as well as a small kitchen area with a gas burner and running water. A refillable water container will be provided in your accommodation. If you are looking to book at the beginning or end of the season, please be aware that nights can get chilly. We do provide logs, just in case, but it’s best to come prepared!
Please note our glamping accommodation is only suitable for the more agile and adventurous. Sturdy footwear and a torch are essential, especially if you’re arriving after dark, as there are no lights in the arboretum. Wellies are also useful if it has been wet.
If you would like to bring a cool box for your food we have a communal freezer in the passageway by the Estate office, where you are welcome to refreeze your blocks.
All of Walcot Hall’s self-catering holiday cottages and glamping accommodation are dog friendly.
Tucked away in a quiet corner of the grounds, our charming Shepherd’s Hut is your cosy countryside hideaway. Perfect for peaceful escapes, wild swims, and starry-night campfires – all with a touch of rustic charm.
Situated within the Walcot Hall estate in our beautiful Arboretum, there are two Showman’s caravans.
Ram Baa Shepherd Hut is one of ten ‘Hidden Treasures’ and sits right in the middle of the arboretum, surrounded by beautiful trees and nature.
